DESIGNS MADE | Booklet & posters

As a designer, I love creating beauty all around me. The graphic design world led me to explore other types of design, such as interior, fashion, landscaping, and even furniture design. During my typography class, the project was to find a font designer and write a booklet about them. I discovered William Morris, a creative force who seamlessly transitioned from furniture design to type design and much more. His skills were incredible; he had a detail-oriented approach and saw no barriers between different design areas.

The main idea of the booklet was to explain the context in which the designer was inserted and showcase the type chosen, in this case, “The Golden Type”. Morris designed this font for his book printing project, The Kelmscott Press, in 1890. “It is an "old-style" serif face, based on type designed by engraver and printer Nicolas Jenson in Venice around 1470”.
